Kenya III-Parque Nacional de Amboseli-Mamiferos, mammals in Amboseli National Park

Os dejo una selección de fotografías realizadas durante un safari de tres días que realizamos en Agosto en el Parque Nacional de Amboseli.
Es realmente espectacular poder disfrutar de tanta fauna salvaje a pocos metros del coche descapotable.
 Here you have a selection of photographs taken during three days game drives in Amboseli National Park. It's really great to see the wildlife just a meters from the car.

 Búfalo Africano ((Syncerus caffer). Los Masai temen más al Búfalo que al León.

 Babuino Amarillo (Papio cynocephalus). Habita la zona central y Este de África.

 Gacela de Thomson (Eudorcas thomsonii). Habita en la Sabana Africana, en el Masai Mara, Kenia, Serengeti. Tanzania

 Esta hembra de elefante cuidaba a su hijo mientras este descansaba.
This female elephant nursing her child while it rested.

 El Gerenuc, Gacela Jirafa o Gacela de Waller (Litocranius walleri).Tiene la capacidad de ponerse de pie sobre sus patas traseras y alcanzar hojas a las que otras gacelas no pueden llegar.
Gerenuks (Litocranius walleri). They can reach higher branches and twigs than other gazelles and antelope by standing erect on their rear legs and elongating their necks.

 Cercopiteco verde (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) o Vervet. Vive en el Este del África subsajariana.
The vervet monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus), or vervet, is an Old World monkey of the family Cercopithecidae native of East Africa.
 
 El ñu azullistado o gorgón (Connochaetes taurinus) es la especie más común y a su vez, más conocida de ñu. Es propio de África oriental y austral.
The Blue Wildebeest, listed or Gorgon (Connochaetes taurinus) is the most common, most famous wildebeest species. It is characteristic of eastern and austral Africa.

 Hipopotamo (Hippopotamus amphibiusel animal que más muerets causa en África.
Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius). The most deadly animals of africa.

El Serval (Leptailurus serval) es un felino nativo de África, ampliamente distribuido al sur del Sahara. 
Serval (Leptailurus serval) native of Africa, where it is widely distributed south of the Sahara.

 Gacela de Grant (Nanger granti). Habita en la Sabana Africana, en el Masai Mara, Serengeti.
The Grant´s gazelle (Nanger granti) lives in Africa's savannas and grassland habitats, particularly the Masai Mara region of Kenya and  Serengeti, Tanzania.

Gaviotas en Madrid, Seagulls in Madrid

Esta gaviota reidora fue anillada en Alemania y ahora muy posiblemente pasará el invierno en Madrid.

This Black-headed gull was ringed in Germany and now is in Madrid.


Algunas fotografías de una Gaviota Patiamarilla del Mediterráneo (michahellis) muy grande.
La gaviota Patiamarilla no es muy numerosa en Madrid, pero siempre se ven varios individuos, la mayoría de la subespecie del Mediterráneo (michahellis), aunque también se ven algunas del cantábrico (L.m.lusitanius).
Here some pictures af a Mediterranean Yellow Leg Gull (Larus michahellis). Very large.
Yellow-legged Gull is not very commond in Madrid, but we can see several individuals among the LBBG, most of them are michahellis, but we can find also L.m.lusitanius.

Una fotografía testimonial, sacada a más de 200 m. de distancia, de la Gaviota Argéntea adulta.
La gaviota Argéntea es un visitante muy escaso, el mayor número se suele ver en los meses de invierno, pero nunca más de 2 o 3 individuos en una mañana de observación.
A testimonail picture of an adult Herring Gull, picture was taking at 200 m. distance.
Herring Gull is a rare visitor to Madrid, the largest number is usually seen in the winter months, but never more than 2 or 3 individuals during a day of observation.
